A breakaway lanyard has a plastic connector at the back of the neck that pops open under pressure, so the strap releases instead of choking the wearer or dragging them into moving equipment. Encore's breakaway safety lanyard runs from $1.37 a piece at 100 units down to $1.03 at 2,500, full-color dye-sublimation printing included.
