1. Who We Are

We're Encore Promotional Products. We help companies look good — literally — by providing custom branded merchandise, corporate gifts, and promotional products. We're based in San Diego, we've been doing this for over 22 years, and we take your privacy seriously. Not in a boring, legalese way. In a "we genuinely don't want to be jerks with your data" way.

2. What Information We Collect

We collect only what we actually need to do business with you:

  • Contact info — your name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing addresses. So we can, you know, send you the stuff you ordered.
  • Payment information — credit card details and billing info. Processed securely through Shopify Payments or other trusted payment gateways. We never store your full card numbers. That would be reckless, and we're not reckless.
  • Order details — what you ordered, your custom artwork or logo files, your order history, and any preferences (like "no, we really do want that logo 2 inches higher").
  • Communication history — emails, calls, and messages. So we can reference that conversation you had with Chris about the embroidery thread color.
  • Website data — basic browsing info like pages visited, products viewed, and how you found us. Standard stuff. We use cookies but not the delicious kind.

3. How We Use Your Information

Pretty straightforward:

  • To fulfill your orders. Process payments, produce and decorate your items in house, arrange shipping, and make sure your custom branded gear shows up looking exactly like you imagined.
  • To communicate with you. Order confirmations, shipping updates, artwork proofs, and the occasional "hey, your stuff is ready!" notification. We won't spam you. We respect your inbox as much as we respect our own.
  • To improve our service. We look at trends and feedback to get better at what we do.
  • To send occasional promotional emails. Only if you've opted in. You can unsubscribe anytime, and we won't hold a grudge. (We might be slightly disappointed, but we'll get over it.)
  • To prevent fraud. Because nobody has time for that.

4. Who We Share It With

We don't sell or share your personal information. Full stop. Not now, not ever. But we do work with a few trusted partners who help us run the business:

  • Shopify — our ecommerce platform. They power our store and process payments. Their privacy policy lives at shopify.com/legal/privacy.
  • Shipping carriers — UPS, FedEx, USPS. We share your name and address so your package actually shows up at your door and not your neighbor's.
  • Fulfillment partners — for warehousing, kitting, and shipping on larger jobs. They get the order details they need to pack and send your gear, and nothing more.
  • When required by law — if a court or government agency with actual legal authority asks us for information, we'll comply. But we'll also let you know if we can.

5. Your Rights (California & General)

If you're a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) gives you the right to:

  • Know what personal information we've collected about you.
  • Delete your personal information from our records (with some exceptions).
  • Opt out of the sale of your personal information — but again, we don't sell it, so there's nothing to opt out of.
  • Non-discrimination — we won't treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights.

To exercise any of these rights, just contact us. We'll verify your identity (we have to, legally) and process your request within the timeframe required by law.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data: SSL encryption on our website, secure payment processing through Shopify, and internal access controls. No system is 100% bulletproof, but we do our best to make sure your information stays yours.

7. Data Retention

We keep your information as long as you have an account with us or as needed to provide our services. After that, we keep it only as long as required by law (tax records, order histories, that sort of thing). When we no longer need it, we delete or anonymize it.

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are for businesses and adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If we discover that a child has provided us with personal information, we'll delete it promptly.

9. Updates to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll let you know by updating the "Last updated" date at the top and, where appropriate, by notifying you directly.
